Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE)
ACRE is the national umbrella of the Rural Community Action Network, of which RCAN is a part, operating at national, regional and local level in support of rural communities across the country. It aims to ensure that the rural community sector is sustainable and well connected to policy and decision-makers.

Charity Commission
Provides operational guidance on the management of village halls, as well as all you need to know about meeting the requirements of the Charity Commission.

Community Accounting Plus
This website provides information for voluntary organisations on a whole range of issues. As well as accounting and book keeping, there are useful resources on employment law. The organisation also runs training.

Community Matters
Community Matters is the National Federation for Community Organisations. It aims to ensure that communities are active, sustainable and valued. It provides guidance on latest policy and legislation developments, as well as advice and training.

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
DEFRA has a dedicated set of pages entitled "Community Halls for Rural People". The site aims to raise awareness of available funding and advice sources for village halls and other community buildings, and to provide useful contacts.

Newark and Sherwood Community Action Network (N&S CAN)
N&S CAN provides networking opportunities for voluntary groups, including events, funding information, and campaigning on issues relevant to its members.

Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire (RCAN)
RCAN is the primary rural development organisation working across Nottinghamshire, providing specialist rural knowledge and intelligence to influence and advocate on behalf of Nottinghamshire's rural communities. This site details the projects run by the organisation and the assistance they provide to rural communities.
